Clean up similar photos. Privately.
Declutter finds near-duplicates and look-alike shots in your Photos library, picks the best of each group, and helps you remove the rest. The AI runs entirely on your Mac.
Free to use · For Macs with Apple silicon
Built for the cleanup you keep putting off
Bursts, five tries at the same group photo, the screenshot you took twice. Declutter gathers them so you decide once per moment, not once per photo.
Finds look-alikes, not just copies
An on-device AI model understands what each photo shows, so it groups the same scene shot from a slightly different angle, not only identical files.
Picks the best shot
Sharpness, open eyes, composition, favorites and edits all count, and it tells you why it chose one. You can always pick another.
Nothing gone for good
Removed photos go to Recently Deleted in Photos and stay there for 30 days. Photos asks you to confirm every time.
Remembers what you reviewed
Kept photos get a keyword in Photos, so next month you only see what's new.
Your photos never leave your Mac
No account, no upload, no cloud processing. Declutter works with your Photos library directly.
- Analysis happens on your Mac. The AI model runs on your Mac's GPU. It's downloaded once (about 1.5 GB) the first time you open the app.
- No analytics, no tracking. The app doesn't watch what you do or which photos you have.
- One anonymous number. After a cleanup, the app adds the space it freed to the counter on this page. That's two numbers (bytes and photo count) with no identifier attached. You can turn it off in Settings.

Every feature works without a license. After your first 100 photos the app occasionally asks you to consider buying one. A license makes that stop and keeps the app going.

Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature works without a license, for as long as you like. After your first 100 removed photos the app shows an occasional reminder. If Declutter saved you time or space, a license is how you say thanks and keep it maintained. Commercial use needs a license.
Does it delete my photos?
Only the ones you choose, and only after Photos asks you to confirm. They go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where you can restore them for 30 days.
Which Macs does it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). The AI model runs on the GPU, and Intel Macs aren't fast enough for it.
Does it work with iCloud Photos?
Yes. It works with the library in the Photos app. Photos you remove are removed from iCloud too, through Recently Deleted as usual.
What does the app send over the internet?
The AI model is downloaded once, the app checks for updates, a license is checked when you enter it, and an anonymous freed-space number goes to the counter unless you turn that off. Your photos, and anything about them, are never sent. See the privacy policy.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, within 30 days, no questions asked. See refunds.
